North Pole Questions

How-to, FundingBelinda KirkComment

Hey there guys and gals,

I am in the process of gathering information and the logistics of successfully doing an expedition to the North Pole and back from Canada. Has anyone done this before? If so, I would love to get in contact with you and ask you a few questions.

Best Regards,

Ryan

Gulf/Keys Row

How-to, FundingBelinda KirkComment

In 2012 I rowed on board The Limited Intelligence, an ocean row boat which has successfully completed three ocean crossings.

Ours was a much shorter trip, about 6 days of rowing through the Florida Keys. We spent a day on the Atlantic during the duration of the trip and enjoyed the experiences, from battling storms at the start to encountering marine wildlife.

This gave me a taste for open ocean rowing and I would love to complete a longer journey in the future.

Raleigh International Expedition 2015

Funding, How-toBelinda KirkComment

This autumn I will be heading to Costa Rica and Nicaragua to act as a Spanish interpreter and volunteer project manager for the sustainable development charity Raleigh International.

For three months I will lead a group of 12 young volunteers as they work on environmental- and community-based projects in remote locations across the two countries. Raleigh has a long history of excellent work in the region - and across the world - and has a strong emphasis on the personal development of the volunteers, as well as providing opportunities for underprivileged young people from the UK to get involved.

How to . . . promote your expedition

How-toBelinda KirkComment

There is a number of exciting expeditions out there so trying to spread the word about your endeavour through that jungle of adventures might be a real pain. If you don't have a sharp machete in the form of the contact details to a well known adventure magazine editor then maybe few of the following points will be of some help.
