Ornithology isn't a well-funded hobby. We've put together a short list of grants to apply for if you need financial help with those bird-watching exploits.

African Bird Club Grants:

Maximum grants of £3,000 for expeditions and projects that are related to African bird species.

The Birdfair/RSPB Research Fund for Endangered Birds

Grants of about £2,000 to fund the work of local ornithologists on the world’s most threatened birds, including research, publicity and to develop the capacity of researchers in developing countries.

British Trust for Ornithology Grants

Grants of up to £500, to support ornithological research projects by BTO members, members of Garden BirdWatch, and holders of BTO ringing permits. The bird species involved must have some connection to Britain.
