After the success of the 2013 adventure this will be running again in August 2015 and feature 2 days at the spectacular Baliem Valley Tribal Festival. After the highland fun a very rare opportunity to explore the pristine karst formations of Triton Bayon the East coast.

We intend to spend two more days at base camp 1 and 2 to allow best opportunities to reach summit and explore further the surrounding valleys and peaks.An optional pre-trek adventure this trip will be visiting a forest area 3 hours from arrival city Jayapura where with luck we will no less than 4 Birds of Paradise and cassowary in their natural habitat!

Expect to trek for 10 days at altitude. Weather can be bad enough to require at least two attempts on summit morning so a spare day is included.The trek will start in the Baliem Valley and take in the spectacular 3,300 m Lake Habbema and pass through traditional Dani tribal villages en route. Often the trails will be no more than very muddy pig and hunting trails with many slippery logs!
