CommunityJames Hipkiss

On the 24th of September the team of four will set off to kayak the length of the Yangtze River in China. Starting in Yibin and kayaking continuously until reaching Shanghai, a distance of over 3000km.

The journey is set to be incredible, the Yangtze River is the longest river in Asia and the third longest in the world. It winds through some of China's most spectacular scenery. The journey will take us from the river's elegantly beautiful turns in Sichuan to the stunning scenery of the Three Great Gorges, through the controversial Three Gorges Dam, and on through some of China's largest and most modern cities.

It is estimated that over a tenth of the world's population live in the valley of the Yangtze and it is flanked with an abundance of cultural treasures, and significant historical and religious and sites.
