THIS IS NOW FULL, PLEASE DO NOT APPLY

An all-women team will be taking to the Cairngorm mountains in September 2023 to explore how much our relationship with nature and the environment itself has changed since the 1940s. We’re looking for 3 more teammates to take part in this fun adventure.

The project

The three-day expedition will run from the evening of Wednesday 20th - to the afternoon of Sunday 24th September 2023 in the Cairngorm mountains, Scotland. The team will explore the mountains, hiking, wild camping and swimming. In particular, the team will hike in the footsteps of the writer, Nan Shepherd, who spent years exploring the Cairngorms. We’ll be making a short film about the experience to break down barriers to women exploring the outdoors.

Teammates

We’re looking for women who love the outdoors and love being part of a team. Get in touch if:

●      You’re interested in the outdoors

●      You’re fit (we’ll be hiking and carrying camping stuff)

●      You’ve faced particular challenges to accessing the outdoors (whether personal or societal). A key objective is to create a film which breaks down barriers to the outdoors and adventures and we’re therefore keen to ensure the team includes those from communities with greater barriers (e.g. women of BAME background or who live with a disability) in order to increase representation in this space.

●      You’re fun

●      You’re up for a challenge

●      You don’t mind the rain. (It’s Scotland).

●      Comms and social media skills would be a bonus.

Get in touch

We’d love to hear from you. If you’re interested or have questions, drop us an email as soon as you can on jhmcgowan@hotmail.co.uk and hannah.westhenry@outlook.com . We are hoping to select team candidates by mid-May.
