We (Grace and Liz) are two friends in Cardiff taking on the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge 2023. We’re on the search for two more teammates to row 3000 miles across the ocean with us, from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to Antigua.
We’ve heard a lot of crews have been put together through Explorers Connect over the years, including our friend Katy who is taking part in 2021 and found her teammates through Explorers Connect.
You don’t need rowing or sailing experience but either would be beneficial.
We’re looking for people who are determined and committed, both in terms of the physical and mental preparation required, and also for throwing their weight into raising the necessary funds and sponsorship. We also want people who are resilient.
As we’re based in Cardiff, people who live in South Wales/Midlands/South West would be best placed for training together and for meeting regular meetups.
We wish to raise money for Prostate Cymru, a charity that is close to our hearts. We are also considering raising money for a UK-wide charity, such as Outward Bound Trust, but we want to make sure we pick a cause the entire team can get on board with.
