My name is Charlie Tokeley, and I'm looking for an expedition partner to accompany me on an attempt to undertake the first circumnavigation of a remote lake in Patagonia from early April to mid-May 2020. The lake in question is, at 240km2, possibly the least explored lake of its size in the Americas (having been visited only once in living memory) and is surrounded by numerous glaciers and mountains shrouded in subantarctic forests. The expedition will be undertaken in packraft, allowing us to traverse for three days through the mountains and descend to the lake before tracing the banks and icebergs of the lake for three weeks. I will also be making a documentary of the expedition, in which I will be covering broader themes of global warming in Patagonia and local indigenous culture.
Whilst I don't have any firm requirements of my expedition partner, prior outdoor/expedition experience in Patagonia or similar climates would be beneficial. Packrafting experience would also be a plus, or any similar disciplines such as sea kayaking, as would filmmaking experience.
