In The Footsteps Of Caillie...is an exploratory journey aiming to retrace the final journey of French explorer Rene Caillie took along the legendary trans - Saharan trade route from Timbuktu to Fez.
Caillie was the first European to return alive from Timbuktu. He had a remarkable approach to exploration by travelling and living as the natives did. It is a unique chance for Ripley to retrace the route taken by Caillie and survive by means similar to the methods used by early Saharan explorers and the ancient traders between the 8th and 16th centuries, and by using alternative navigation methods.
Ripley will travel on foot with camel caravan, relying on traditional provisions.
