ORGANISATIONS CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS TO HELP GET KIDS OUTDOORS
Explorer Scout (Venture) Leaders needed in South London!
We're on the lookout for adventurous folks who can give a few hours a week or month, to help provide adventure and development opportunities to inner city kids, most of whom suffer from Nature Deficit Disorder.
It's our role to get these teenagers out into the great outdoors, teach them new skills, and allow them to find their feet, both literally and figuratively in some cases!
The Scout Association has changed hugely in the last 20 years. All the Scout Troops and Explorer Units in Southwark are around 50/50 girls and boys, and there's less of an emphasis on dib dib dob or knots (unless we're going climbing!) and more a focus on life skills, outdoor adventure, and trying our hands at exrtreme sports. Whatever your background or experience level, regular volunteers are hugely appreciated!
Many thanks in advance!
If you think you've got what it takes, and have the passion and ethusiasm to give back, we'd like to hear from you. There's no obligation to have previously been a Scout or a Guide, and full training and support is provided.
