Enjoy this picturesque packraft journey from mountain to coast in some of North Wales’ most stunning landscape. Begin with a short hike before paddling north to camp overnight in a secluded woodland. Your paddle adventure continues the following day, when you’ll go with the flow all the way to the coast.
What better way to explore Snowdonia than from the water. Spend a weekend with Explorers Connect testing the expedition industry’s most exciting new bit of kit: The Packraft, an inflatable, extra tough, raft-for-one. Begin your journey in the heart of Snowdonia National Park, spend 2 days paddling along some of North Wales’ most beautiful river scenery, idylic woodland and across an upland lake, finishing in World Heritage Site Conwy Town, with its 13th Century Castle and historical suspension bridge
You’ll spend a night under the stars with expert guidance on how to wild camp comfortably for an enjoyable and hassle-free experience, learn new skills on responsible fire-making, using tarps and importantly, how to ‘leave no trace’ when on adventures.
Day 1 (Saturday): 9am meet your guide in Betws-Y-Coed for a kit check and brief. Your group will then hike to the start point at Capel Curig where the packrafting adventure begins. That evening set up a wild camp and learn the skills for a comfortable night outside, cook up your dinner and share stories around the fire.
Day 2 (Sunday): Continue paddling down the valley to Conwy Town where you’ll finish mid-afternoon and can enjoy fish and chips or spend time exploring. Take the public bus back to Betws-Y-Coed or stay the night and explore some more.
LOGISTICS AND FOOD
Please travel by train if you can! Parking in Betws-Y-Coed is very limited, especially in Summer.
