In 2009 Belinda Kirk established Explorers Connect as a not-for-profit organisation to help people live more adventurously. Belinda is a Guinness World Record holding expedition leader. She has walked across Nicaragua, searched for camels in the Desert of Death, discovered new rock paintings in Lesotho, rowed around Britain in a rowing boat, led numerous youth development expeditions and managed remote trips worldwide (for among others Ray Mears and Bear Grylls). Today Explorers Connect is a large community of people who share this passion.
"I’ve seen adventure change people’s lives and it changed mine, by giving inspiration, building confidence and creativity and bringing people together. The Explorers Connect community believes in making the most of life; together we are making a real difference and having fun" - Belinda Kirk
We do this by providing an online home for adventure-seekers to connect, inspire and plan adventures. We also run unique, affordable and unforgettable adventures in the UK and abroad. These include everything from kayaking in the tunnels under Bristol or at night under Tower Bridge to sleeping in snowholes in Scotland, wild camping on Dartmoor, diving with sharks and climbing Kilimanjaro. We also organise Britain's Most Adventurous Festival Base Camp Festival and Wild Night Out, our mission to support charities that help disadvantaged kids get outdoors.
