7.30pm Tim Good will share his amazing stories and photos of high lining adventures in Europe
Tim's talk will follow the trials and tribulations of a team of adventurers in the search of their next high line. Their journey takes them to the highest highs and the lowest lows from Sardinia, Spain, the English Channel and a international search and rescue effort in Switzerland thrown into the midst, when one of the team goes missing.
High-lining is an offshoot of slack lining; walking along a length of webbing spanning between two objects. In 2010 Pedro Pimentel from Cardiff spotted a natural spine in a National Park in Sardinia and swore he would be back to rig a high line to it. Two years later a team came together, sailed there, rigged the line and walked it!
The team promised to do a new adventurous highland trip each year but in 2013 one of the team, Dan Hunt, went missing whilst paragliding in Switzerland. Some of the same team and additional members from the high lining community came together to launch a search and rescue operation. Dan was fund 4 days later in the bottom of a deep gorge.
Their next trip took them to Spain, to the lost valley of El Chorro beyond the El Caminto Del Rey and then to the Sea Forts in the English Channel in 2015.
