Powering the Adventure Revolution

Our fabulous Adventure Team organise regular hiking, wild swimming, camping and biking adventures in and around our main city hubs (currently London, Manchester and Bristol) with other members of the community for the EC community. We call these 'microadventures' and they're absolutely FREE to EC CLUB Members. You can find upcoming microadventures below but you will need to confirm your attendance using Facebook Events for local communities.

Take a high-ridge ramble along the stunning western edge of the Mendip hills to Somerset’s shapeliest summit, Crook Peak. It is believed to have been a beacon site, set up to signal the threatened arrival of the Spanish Armada to the West Country coast. You'll probably know it as that distinctive, conical hill just off the M5 that we hurry past on our way to Devon and Cornwall. On this walk you'll get up close to this classic outcrop of craggy limestone, epitomising the rugged beauty of the Mendip Hills. And only half an hour's drive from Bristol!

Starting from King's Wood, the walk will be a easy to moderate 6-mile loop and should take us around 3.5 hours. You'll get sweeping views of the countryside and the Bristol channel, taking in Wavering Down, Barton Hill and Crook Peak via the West Mendip Way. On the way back we'll pass through the little villages of Compton Bishop and Cross, ending at a local pub.

IMPORTANT! EC CLUB microadventures are organised by members of the EC Adventure Team. These are volunteers making adventures happen for the EC community. They are not guides or instructors, just friendly folk who simply want to help make adventures happen. When on an EC CLUB microadventure, everyone is responsible for themselves and each others safety as a group. And we need your help too - please come and join this adventure but also feel free to help out in organising it if you like, or even join the A-Team yourself.
