Hello I’m Alice and I’m looking to join a team or project between Jan and June 2023 for up to 3 months.
Long story short, I had a 6 month sabbatical planned in March 2020 which was cancelled due to covid and it’s been rearranged for Jan til Jun 2023. Initially I had 10 weeks volunteering lined up as a Logistics Officer with a charity, who have since gone into administration.. so I’m seeking alternatives!
Ideally I’d like to join a expedition project - such as research, conservation, film making - rather than solely an expedition. I’m looking to join a team, and happy to help with pre-departure planning. Random fact: I am severely allergic to horses, so no trekking for me!
The skills I can offer: I currently manage a team and oversee diversity and inclusion for a large construction company. I have experience working in Scandinavia and the States, have solo travelled in Indonesia, West Africa and South America and have joined group trips in the Middle East (and have canoed Scotland with explorers connect). I speak a smattering of Spanish and Swedish. I’m hands on, organised, happy to help with administration/ pre departure planning and I have good written communication skills.
A bit about me: I love spending time in, on or around water.. whether it’s kayaking, surfing, open water swimming or snorkelling. I’m fairly mentally & physically fit - I’ve just finished my 100th Parkrun, I swim with a Masters team and recently completed the National and Yorkshire three peaks challenges. I’m comfortable camping or staying in home stays. I also have a Geography Degree and love the environment and great outdoors.
