Hello EC gang, I'm just about ready and raring to go, all set for lift off on July 1st.

I've just updated the news section of the website, and (as if by magic) it's now a one stop shop for Flickr, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook feeds. A quick glance at this page should give you a good idea of what's crackin on the road. I'll be sure to keep you updated with posts on here as I go along too. If anyone's at HUBB UK's overland adventure expo in a few weeks time, and wants to hear a little more about the trip - I'm speaking on the Thursday and Friday. Come on down :)

Hello Explorer-er-ers, and a happy (almost) new year to you all!

Just to say I'm currently in the throes of getting down the the nitty gritty route planning. I'm continuing to contact communities, seeing what I can do to get some inspiration on the go - especially for the kidlings out there. If you take a look at overview map and know anyone who lives along the way who would be interested in me dropping in on the community, let me know and I'll jiggle the route.

Brazil 9000 Update #3: Caboclo Kingdom

Status Update:

With the sun having now set on them for the next three months or more, the Ice Team find themselves in an especially inhospitable area of terrain with severe crevassing being exposed in all directions.

The team are making extensive use of the ground penetrating radar to help them find these holes and identify the safest route south; however, this is taking a lot of time and they are yet to find a preferred route through.

Currently, the cabooses, storage ISO and two fuel scoots are positioned on a safe patch of terrain, having been shifted 150m yesterday away from a spot pitted with crevasses. Six fuel scoots lie 500m south from where the team is now, and the rest of the scoots are 5km behind (i.e. north) the team.

The team are currently surveying a new route from camp to the six fuel scoots south of them, the last one having been made impassable due to recently exposed crevasses.

Although this is an extremely stressful period for the team, I am pleased to report that all five members are all well and are in reasonable spirits given the situation.

We will provide further updates when we receive them.

Message from Alan: Completing the first recorded tour of all the highest points in the 13 old counties of Wales by human power; Christopher Gildersleve, Martin Lucas , Hilary Bloor, Haydn Griffiths, Alan Stone and Mark Bryant. 677.5 kilometres covered with 12676 vertical metres of height gained in a moving time of 42 hours, 45minutes and 8 seconds. Thanks for our supporting crew of Kay, Rod and Moley. Thanks also to Sarah Rowell, Simon Blease and Ute Meister for joining us part of the way. Thanks also to Toffer and Wheeze for thinking the whole thing up and organising the logistics. — with Sarah Rowell, Haydn Griffiths, Christopher Gildersleve, Mark Bryant and Hilary Bloor at Preseli Mountains.

Hi ya, I'm thinking of doing this in a kayak some time in the future. It my limited research so far I see there are a few big dams to get round. How do you plan to get an ocean rowing boat round? Or are you intending to take it through the locks?
