Easter Hiking Escape: Peaks & Moors 14 - 17 April

Escape to the country for the Easter weekend.  Hike from the door of our beautifully remote farmhouse accommodation overlooking Ladybower Reservoir.  Explore windswept moors and take in spectacular views over the peaks and valleys of the Peak District National Park.

The Peak District was the UK’s first national park and is a fantastic hiking destination. We’ll be staying in the Dark Peak area characterised by high moorland plateaus and famous for it’s gritstone edges which offer great views across the surrounding landscape.

On Saturday and Sunday we’ll head out for full day guided walks to explore our local patch of the Peak District. Our superb location means we’ll be spoilt for choice for walks and will be able to head straight from the door into the spectacular scenery.  We’ll hike along the ridge overlooking Ladybower Reservoir, surrounded by woodland and topped by high moors, and explore Alport Castles, a spectacular rocky feature nearby created by an ancient landslip over half a mile long.  On the other day we will go further afield for our hike, with options including the iconic Mam Tor and Lose Hill with breathtaking views over the Hope and Edale Valleys.

We’ll be staying in beautiful isolation in the heart of the national park (our nearest neighbour is a mile away).  Our converted 18th Century farm has great facilities, with plenty of space to relax both inside and outside.  If you've never come on an EC Adventure before, they're informal, friendly and great fun. We generally have singles, couples and small sets of friends coming along, from complete beginners to adventure professionals.  What we all share is a love for adventure.  Ages tend to range between mid 20s and mid 40s but anyone over 18 years old and young at heart is welcome.

If you’d like to do your own thing for one of the days then that’s fine too, the area is well known for it’s climbing, mountain biking and caves.

The trip will start on Friday evening but if you'd like to come up to the area earlier in the day there is plenty to do in the area.
